City Picnic

Here’s a conversational, SEO‑friendly (NLP‑optimized) introduction to City Picnic, hitting at least 500 words in English and weaving in the main keyword plus sensible secondary keywords with search volume and contextual meaning:

Welcome to City Picnic, your go‑to spot nestled at 6 Castle St, Belfast BT1 1HB, United Kingdom. If you’re on the hunt for the best burgers Belfast has to offer or a restaurant near me that serves everything from cocktails to gluten‑free options, you've landed in the right place.

Imagine stepping in for lunch or dinner-this casual, solo dining‑friendly spot features live music, a relaxed vibe, and a menu crafted to please both comfort food lovers and health-conscious diners. With outdoor seating, takeaway, delivery, or dine‑in options, it’s flexible whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or lingering over a pint of Guinness or a Punjabi cocktail in the evening.

At City Picnic, burgers take centre stage. The menu showcases the iconic “Carnivore Burger”-stacked high with slow‑smoked pulled pork, crispy bacon, American cheese on a toasted brioche bun, served with garlic‑seasoned fries and coleslaw. If you're gluten‑sensitive, the Gluten Free Blue Chicken Burger loaded with pepperoni and cheese brings big flavour without the wheat. Fans of poultry will love the Chicken Burger Served with fresh toppings or the Chicken Caesar Salad version, which blends crisp lettuce, grilled chicken and creamy dressing-a top pick among salads.

Beyond burgers, they also dish out Pizzas, Pulled Pork Fries, Hamburger classics, and refreshing Chicken Salad fare-all served alongside drinks like Iced Tea, Strawberry Daiquiri, Vanilla Smoothie, Espresso, or even a Frappuccino as a midday pick‑me‑up. The salad bar lets you customise your plate with crisp greens and toppings, ideal for vegetarians or those craving light fare. And yes, free water refills are part of the hospitality.

The overall vibe is accessible and welcoming: there’s a wheelchair-accessible entrance, seating, and toilet, though unfortunately no dedicated accessible car parking. Still, that level of accessibility underscores how City Picnic cares about inclusiveness.

Now, when it comes to SEO and helping folks discover this gem, secondary keywords matter-and City Picnic naturally fits several:

  • Takeaway restaurants in Belfast - plenty of customers search for delivery or takeaway options, and City Picnic offers both

  • Late‑night food Belfast - serving food late into the evening, especially after live music sets, makes it a hotspot for evening crowds

  • Best burgers Belfast - with a wildly varied burger menu (vegetarian, gluten‑free, pulled pork), you can organically rank highly for searches around burgers in Belfast

  • Restaurant with live music Belfast - highlighting the live‑music angle attracts customers searching for dinner plus entertainment.

From an expert’s perspective, City Picnic stands out because it blends quality offerings, service flexibility, and variety. Compared to typical fast food joints, it offers gourmet touches-dry-aged shorthorn beef burgers, crispy buttermilk chicken, spice-forward veggie options-while also delivering crowd-pleasers like Sweet Potato Fries, Seasoned Garlic Fries, and indulgent Pulled Pork Burger or Fries.

Quantitatively, if you’re comparing decision factors, consider speed (quick bites and takeaway), accessibility (full wheelchair access inside), atmosphere (live music and outdoor dining), and menu diversity (meat, vegetarian, gluten‑free, salads, coffee, cocktails, wine, beer, spirits). For someone seeking vegetarian dishes or a salad bar, City Picnic delivers; equally it elevates comfort food with its signature burgers and weekend specials.

Service highlights also include a private dining room for group events and an inclusive environment serving everything from espresso or juice to pints of Guinness, beer, wine, and cocktails. They even serve late‑night food, making it ideal if your event stretches past conventional dinner hours.

A friendly tip: whether you're searching for “belfast takeaway food” or “burgers near Castle Street Belfast” or simply “City Picnic Belfast”, you’ll find them ready with great flavours, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere. Resembling a casual diner but with a creative twist, they appeal to locals and tourists alike.

In short, City Picnic offers more than just food-it delivers convenience, variety, accessibility, atmosphere, and quality, all under one roof in the heart of Belfast.

I have been here before in October 2024 and felt that time was better than this time. It’s disappointing you can’t order starters and mains separately. We ordered buffalo wings which I presumed came with a garlic dip, but unfortunately the garlic is all over the wings, which was not great as my partner doesn’t like garlic sauce and we hoped to share. The pizza pocket dough balls are a 11/10 can’t fault them. We also got the brisket fries which were amazing. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the burgers, the meat wasn’t the best and didn’t enjoy the toppings. As for the cocktails I ordered a loop the loop which was completely different from last time was 1/10’this time. But I enjoyed the rest of them. I will return but would order differently next time!

Had the most wonderful evening with dinner and drinks! The food was exceptional with great portion sizes, and the service was impressively quick. But the highlight of the night was definitely the drinks, they were gorgeous and tasted amazing. Mahir made us feel so welcome and comfortable, which really made the night special. I highly recommend this place, it’s an absolute must for a girls' night out!!!

Atmosphere was amazing and staff were really friendly. Seating was a bit cramped and burgers were a bit bland but still delicious! Really enjoyed lunch here!
